Brownsville, Brooklyn
In collaboration with Brownsville, Brooklyn, and the Brownsville Police Department, a new plan for better community communication and connection was developed. The challenge was to use design to relieve tension and foster better relations between police officers and the Brownsville Brooklyn community.
An alternative solution to this problem was developed using site-specific contexts at the NYPD’s 73rd Precinct in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Conversations with a dynamic range of experts and community leaders engaged students, officials and community members in a dialog around a number of relevant topics.
