Ignite (Branding)

Originally founded as Reid’s Gift, Inc. in 2013, this non-profit was established in loving memory of Reid Brian Thompson, a bright and talented young man with autism. Reid’s legacy of love, strength, and potential inspired the creation of a meaningful organization dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. After nearly a decade of impactful work, the organization made the decision to rebrand itself as Ignite, a name that better reflects its mission of empowerment, independence, and inclusivity.

With the change in name came a transformation in vision. Ignite’s focus shifted toward providing opportunities for teens and adults with developmental disabilities to live more inclusive, fulfilling, and meaningful lives. The rebranding was not just a change of name, but also a strategic repositioning to ensure the organization could better communicate its expanded scope and mission.

Our team worked closely with Ignite’s leadership to develop a new branding strategy that would clearly communicate the essence of this evolution. This process included the creation of a new brand mark (logo) that symbolizes the energy and potential of those the organization serves. The logo represents more than just a visual identity—it encapsulates the mission of lighting the path for individuals with developmental disabilities to thrive, empowering them to lead independent, enriched lives.

In addition to the logo, we developed a comprehensive brand guidelines document to ensure consistency across all of Ignite’s marketing and communication materials. These guidelines provided direction on the use of colors, typography, imagery, and tone to foster a strong and recognizable brand identity. By aligning their visual presence with their updated mission, Ignite is poised to engage new partners, donors, and families, and to continue its legacy of creating positive change for the communities they serve.

This rebranding project not only helped redefine the organization’s visual identity but also reinforced the values of inclusion, empowerment, and dignity for all individuals, regardless of their abilities. Ignite now has the visual assets it needs to take its message to a wider audience and to continue making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
