Social Justice School

The Social Justice School, a Washington, DC-based middle school, opened in the fall of 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. With in-person interactions limited and traditional print promotions off the table, the school faced the challenge of reaching prospective students and their families in a virtual space.

Through a design thinking approach, we identified social media as the most effective platform to build awareness and engagement. Our team developed a cohesive visual brand that reflected the school’s commitment to social justice, inclusivity, and community. We also crafted a targeted visual marketing strategy to ensure the school stood out in a competitive educational landscape and clearly communicated its unique mission.

The result was a strong, recognizable brand identity coupled with a social media strategy that allowed The Social Justice School to connect with families, build an online presence, and promote its values despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Within this process of design thinking, it was determined that the school needed a stronger logo mark. So the logo shown above is a redesign.
